Browns Pairing No. 3: Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney, DEs

The Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney show will get another crack at an Emmy Award-level performance again this next season.

This pairing of two former No. 1 draft picks will try to outperform last year’s great season where the two regularly created havoc in opponent backfields. Garrett, who was double-teamed all year still managed to get 16 sacks on the season, a new Browns record for a single season. Clowney had one of his best campaigns in a while as he recorded 9.0 sacks.

Garrett has had four seasons straight of more than 10 sacks in a season. He’s also forced a fumble every season in his five-year career. In the last two seasons, he’s recovered a fumble or two and he even took one back for a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens a year ago.

Clowney had his best year since his early days in Houston. He hasn’t had 9-plus sacks since 2017 when he played then for the Texans. The pairing with Garrett has certainly lit a fire under Clowney pursuing that elusive Super Bowl.

The bookends to the defensive line will be at it again this next season. If these two can both stay healthy then the season looks very promising for the team in general.
