Best Cleveland Browns pass-catcher No. 7: Dave Logan

Dave Logan was drafted by the Browns in the third round of the 1976 NFL Draft and played almost his entire nine-year career in Cleveland.

He was drafted out of Colorado where he was a multiple-sport player. He’s also the only athlete other than Dave Winfield and Mike McCarty to be drafted in the NFL, the NBA, and MLB.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and 219-pounds, Logan had been an outstanding basketball player as well. His time in Cleveland can be looked at as a player that had a lot of big plays in important contests. He especially brought his “A” game when going up against the rival Pittsburgh Steelers.

His best couple of years were in 1979 and 1980. In those two seasons, he caught 110 passes combined for 1,804 yards and 11 touchdowns. Overall, in his time with the Browns, he totaled 4,250 yards and 24 touchdowns.

In his two games against the Steelers in 1979, he collected 12 receptions for 226 yards and three touchdowns, but both games were close losses. He finally helped Cleveland to a big win in the 1980 season when he caught eight passes for 131 yards in a narrow 27-26 win over the Steelers.

After his time in Cleveland came to an end, he spent one season with the Denver Broncos before retiring.
