Cleveland Browns Round 3 Pick: Rakim Jarrett, WR, Maryland

The Browns got better at wide receiver this offseason after adding Amari Cooper in a trade with Dallas, Jakeem Grant in free agency, and David Bell in the NFL Draft. However, they still could stand to get better which is why they use their pick in Round 3 on Rakim Jarrett out of Maryland.

Jarrett had a solid sophomore campaign in 2021 with 62 receptions for 829 yards and four touchdowns. The 6-foot-0, 200-pounder also had some work in the return game over his first two seasons with the Terps. In two years, he has 10 returns for 177 yards and while that might not be overly impressive, the fact that he can help on special teams only adds to his value.

With the Browns, he would likely be the fourth receiver on the chart —‚ at best — but with a more wide-open offense now that Deshaun Watson is the quarterback, going that deep will be important.

Cleveland Browns Round 4 Pick: Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu, OT, Oregon

Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu has proved himself as a capable right tackle and the Browns might need such a player going forward. Not only is Jack Conklin nearing the end of his deal in Cleveland but he’s also coming off a serious knee injury that could affect his performance going forward.

Cleveland does have James Hudson but counting on him alone as the heir to Conklin isn’t the best idea. Instead, they should build competition, which they do here by bringing in Aumavae-Laulu.
