The final Cleveland Browns quarterback ranking, and where Baker Mayfield stands, for now

With the struggles at the end of this past season, Mayfield was traded to the Carolina Panthers to make room for Deshaun Watson.

With the departure of Mayfield, where ultimately does he land in the rankings of all the past Browns quarterbacks?

Here are our current rankings heading into the 2022 season:

  1. Otto Graham
  2. Frank Ryan
  3. Bernie Kosar
  4. Baker Mayfield
  5. Brian Sipe

I’m actually giving a bump up for Frank Ryan to No. 2 because of his impressive 55-22 record and winning the 1964 NFL Championship

Local sports hero and icon Bernie Kosar then falls to No. 3. He was outstanding at times and helped the Browns to three AFC Championship games.

That leaves us placing Mayfield at the No. 4 spot. He did win a playoff game — in Pittsburgh—  and No. 5 Brian Sipe couldn’t. If Sipe wins a playoff game then in all likelihood, Sipe is No. 4.

Mayfield will go down in the history of the franchise as one of the best. While some out there currently are trying to overlook all the good that Mayfield did for the Browns they may want to go back and study the history of Cleveland quarterbacks a bit more. Mayfield did a lot for this franchise and nothing more important than bringing the team back to relevance.

Browns interior defense is a major issue. light. Related Story
