Top 10 Cleveland Browns of 2022: Where does Nick Chubb land?
By John Suchan
No. 7 Kareem Hunt, RB
Kareem Hunt’s home has always been in Cleveland. He grew up here and then went on to play at Toledo for the Rockets in college. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs and hit the ground running. He’s still running hard.
That rookie year he led the NFL in rushing yards with 1,327 and ran for eight touchdowns. He was such a versatile player that he also caught 53 passes for 455 yards and scored three more touchdowns.
He’s continued those efforts since, though the numbers are a bit down now that he’s behind Nick Chubb. On top of that, he was injured for nine games in 2021. Back in 2020, when he was in his second season with the Browns, he had 841 rushing yards and 304 yards on pass catches. He also had 11 touchdowns combined.
He’s part of the best running tandem in the league. Having a teammate like Chubb is a luxury and it’s helped both of them showcase their skill sets.
So, look for Hunt, in the last year of his current contract to go all out again this season. It’s an absolute treat for Browns fans to have a player like Hunt, who’s from here and bleeds orange and plays tough for his hometown and the love of the game.
