Top 10 Cleveland Browns of 2022: Where does Nick Chubb land?
By John Suchan
No. 6 Jadeveon Clowney, DE
Jadeveon Clowney, the former No. 1 pick of the 2014 NFL Draft has had a career resurgence in his first season with the Browns. He joined them a year ago and after pairing up with fellow defensive end, Myles Garrett he was able to dominate at times last season.
Having two former No. 1 overall draft picks at defensive end is quite the plus for the Browns. After having played five seasons with the Houston Texans, Clowney moved around a bit trying to find where he was best suited, and that was clearly with the Browns. He recorded nine sacks which were one half-sack shy of his career-high.
It was more than just the numbers that improved for Clowney. His whole demeanor and love for the game seemed to reappear after those years of struggling.
There was so much hype for him when he was initially drafted by the Texans out of South Carolina and while he’s never lived up to all that stardom, he’s finally found a place where he can get the most out of the latter part of his career and the Browns are benefiting from having Clowney back.
He tested the free agency waters again this offseason but wants to win a Super Bowl and chose to come back to The Land. I look for another great season from Clowney who can only benefit from playing alongside another great player like Garrett.
