2. Donovan Peoples-Jones – WR going into his 3rd NFL season

Much like the defensive tackle room, the wide receiver group is very open once you get past Amari Cooper. Many thought the Browns should have gone after another wideout in free agency, but they seem happy with the young players they have drafted.

With that being the case, this is a huge camp for Donovan Peoples-Jones. He has had several flashes of being a really good receiver in this league, but he has yet to put up big numbers consistently. This is the camp that can help DPJ take that next step with elite QB play from Deshaun Watson (when he is back from suspension, that is).

The good news is that DPJ has improved each season he’s been in the NFL. In 2020, he had 14 catches for 304 yards and 2 touchdowns. In 2021, he had 34 catches for 597 yards and 3 touchdowns.

He has always been a guy that picks up big chunks of yardage with each catch and if he stays on this trajectory, he should have about 50 catches for 700 yards and four touchdowns in 2022.

It will be vital for him to beat out rookie David Bell and second-year man Anthony Schwartz. If DPJ can have a great camp, he will go into the season as WR2 and be poised to take a nice step.
