Top 5 2023 NFL Draft prospects for Cleveland Browns to keep an eye on
By John Suchan
Prospect No. 1: Jack Campbell, LB, Iowa
Jack Campbell is moving up the draft board as we speak, but it’s well warranted. He’s returning to the Hawkeyes for his senior campaign and is being projected as one of the best linebackers in the country. He had a fantastic junior season where he had 140 tackles, including 3.5 for losses, one sack, two interceptions, and two fumble recoveries.
Campbell is a beast standing at 6-foot-5 and 246-pounds. He’s also a very aggressive tackler with plenty of speed to cover ground in a hurry.
This season, he’s already been selected to the preseason Big Ten Conference First Team. He will certainly be a high draft pick but the question will be — does he go in the first round or slide to the second or third round is hard to predict right now.
If the Browns use a pick to grab Campbell, it would be an attractive player that could fit in nicely with players like current Browns linebackers Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Jacob Phillips.
As was said at the beginning, it’s never too early to start exploring how the Browns are going to get better. Their coaches and scouts are already well at work analyzing these players so we’ll keep trying to figure out who those players might be.
Cleveland is getting better with this new regime, and it’ll be interesting to follow these next series of drafts in the coming years.
