Player No. 3: Demetric Felton

Being a jack of all trades and a master of none can be enough to keep you on an NFL roster. But, if Demetric Felton wants to earn a major role on this team, he’s going to have to step up as a returner. Due to the season-ending injury to return extraordinaire, Jakeem Grant, Felton is going to get the opportunity to show how much he has improved since his rookie season.

Felton was able to win the punt returner job last season but later lost the gig due to a bad stretch that saw him muff several punts. From the outside, it appeared that Felton lost his confidence and his return role along with it. Now, with a year under his belt, it appears he is going to get another shot at being the team’s primary return man.

The second-year offensive Swiss army knife has the prerequisite short area wiggle to be an NFL-caliber punt returner, but can he regain the confidence he had entering his rookie season? There are plenty of young players behind Felton that would be ready to pounce on the opportunity if he stumbles.

But if Felton can rip off a couple of plus returns and make a few gunners miss, he could take the reigns and, in turn, earn a few extra touches on offense.
