No. 2: The kicker is found

While Monson isn’t as hot on Cleveland’s offensive line, he’s a believer in their rookie kicker. Not only does he see the rookie having a great first year, but he also predicts that Cade York will be the highest-graded kicker in the league.

I was thrilled when the Browns drafted Austin Siebert, I thought he was going to be the real deal. But after that quickly fizzled out, it does feel like this kid is the real deal. Not only does he have fantastic accuracy, but he also has more than enough leg to kick the long field goals when needed.

With Deshaun Watson out the first 11-game, York may get a crazy number of opportunities. We are all extremely hopeful that Jacoby Brissett will play well and lead the offense to touchdowns, but three points here and there could be crucial.

Monson also mentions in the article that York could get opportunities others don’t. Number one, he’s going to have a longer leash because he has been so good. Additionally, because points will so valuable and his leg is so powerful, don’t be shocked to see Kevin Stefanski trot him out there for multiple 60-plus yard field goals. I know practice is practice and a game is different, but there is a video of him making 70-yeard field goals.

I agree, this York kid could be very special, I just hope the offense moves the ball enough to give him a chance to score some points.
