No. 1: Confidence

It’s extremely important that the Cleveland Browns win against New York because it’s a winnable game, but it’s also a great game where they can get some confidence as well on both sides of the ball. After an extremely sluggish start for the offense last week, this is a defense where the Browns should be able to move up and down the field.

It would be great to see Brissett get in an early rhythm connecting on multiple passes in a row as well as getting Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt involved in the running game. For whatever reason, this unit played very minimal snaps in the preseason together and they need to get as many repetitions as possible before they hit the tough part of their schedule.

The Browns got the win last week, but there was some shaky play on both sides of the ball. Brissett missed multiple wide-open receivers and the secondary gave up two huge passing plays that led to touchdowns and ultimately gave up a 13-point fourth-quarter lead.

This team certainly found out that they could win a game last week, but now it’s time to put a little more gas in the tank. If they can handily win Sunday, they are in a good position for the next two weeks to also have a great chance at winning.

It’s always difficult without your starting quarterback but keeping the Browns within reach of a playoff berth once Watson returns is the ultimate goal.
