No. 2 – Jordan Elliott, Defensive Tackle

One of the biggest question marks coming into 2022 was the defensive tackles. The Cleveland Browns had five guys who had a chance at seeing playing time, but none that had any real NFL experience. On top of that, the entire depth chart really accelerates as pass-rushers and doesn’t do as well vs. the run.

This team appears to be the only one in history who can’t win a game by having a great run game of their own, but constantly appear to lose games because they can’t stop the run at all. As we saw vs. the Falcons, most teams can run it every single play and march up and down the field.

Jordan Elliott is the guy with the most experience on this roster. We knew he wasn’t going to be an elite player on this roster, but also expected him to have a much better season in his third full NFL year. He continues to get overpowered at times in the middle, and really isn’t generating a pass rush either.

The Browns brought in Deion Jones to try and help sure up the run defense, but if he is constantly covered up by offensive linemen it won’t be easy. Elliott either needs to start eating up blocks, or Andrew Berry may need to bring in a free-agent defensive tackle as well.
