1. Josh Allen, Quarterback

When Josh Allen entered the league in the 2018 NFL Draft, he was seen as a project player. There was a small faction of fans that believed he should be in contention for the No. 1 spot, which Cleveland owned, but they went with Baker Mayfield.

While Mayfield was considered a safer pick than Allen, he was also considered more of a risk than Sam Darnold. There were even those who thought Josh Rosen was a better option.

Now in 2022, Allen is a legitimate MVP candidate, Rosen has bounced all around even spending time with the Browns this season, and Mayfield and Darnold are teammates on the Panthers. That’s going so poorly that they could end up with the No. 1 overall pick.

With all that being said, Allen was clearly the better pick — although he and Lamar Jackson can battle for the title of best in that class — and the Bills look brilliant for making the selection. Looking ahead to this game, Allen is going to give Cleveland’s defense fits, and not just with his arm.

Sure, Allen is going to move the ball downfield but where he really hurts teams is when he starts to get rolling on the ground. After nine games, Allen leads his team with 476 yards and four touchdowns.

With the Brown’s inability to stop the run, Allen is likely to find plenty of room and if they don’t have a plan to slow him down, things could get ugly in a hurry.
