Round 3, Pick 98- Christopher Smith II, Safety, Georgia

Another major need is solved for the Browns who need a true deep-free safety and that is exactly what they would get with Christopher Smith. Smith plays the deep role perfectly and has the play recognition skills and speed to react quickly to what he sees. He crashes down in a hurry against the run game and is a sure tackler to make the play when he gets there.

Smith covers the ground in a hurry laterally as well with good ball skills and shows it with some really impressive interceptions. As a deep center fielder, he would fit in perfectly with what the Browns currently lack in the back end of the defense.

Round 4, Pick 115- Sam LaPorta, Tight End, Iowa

Harrison Bryant hasn’t taken a step forward and the team doesn’t have any depth under contract behind him. Sam LaPorta is more of a receiving tight end than a blocker but he is a willing blocker that has gotten better. He is able to line up in the slot, out wide, and in tight giving the team some flexibility for the Browns if they draft him.
