Stock down No. 1: Kareem Hunt

One thing has become objectively clear over the course of the season, the Browns don’t have a feel for how to use Kareem Hunt. Once a key contributor to the offense, Hunt has become an afterthought. With only one more game remaining on his contract, his tenure as a member of the organization is for all sakes and purposes already over.

On Sunday, Hunt played 18 snaps and only carried the ball twice for a grand total of zero rushing yards. Hunt’s utilization, or lack thereof, in the passing game was only slightly more abysmal. Hunt was targeted one time for one negative yard. Since the team won on Sunday, it’s unlikely to become a talking point, but the Browns have officially pushed Hunt all of the way out of the offense.

His role being what it has become, the team should give Hunt’s would-be opportunities to rookie running back Jerome Ford next week. There’s no point in giving Hunt repetitions at this point in the season. The team obviously has zero intentions of bringing him back, and if you are Hunt you want to be somewhere with legitimate opportunities to contribute.

Farewell sweet prince, we will always have 2020 and your magnificent performance in the Wildcard game against Pittsburgh.
