Nick Chubb makes his first All-Pro team and is joined by Joel Bitonio and Myles Garrett as the Cleveland Browns selected to this year’s All-Pro Teams.
Three Cleveland Browns players found Friday the 13th to be a good day as it was announced by the Associated Press, the First and Second All-Pro Teams in the NFL this season.
Those three players were Joel Bitonio, Myles Garrett, and Nick Chubb. While the Browns 2022 season ended with disappointment, these three players have again gone to great lengths to help their team win games,

Cleveland Browns All-Pro: Nick Chubb, RB
Nick Chubb, in his fifth season with the Browns, earned his first All-Pro honors, being named to the second team. Josh Jacobs of the Los Angeles Raiders took first-team honors after winning the rushing title this year.
Chubb, the former Georgia Bulldog, finished with a career-best 1,525 yards rushing. He also ran in 12 touchdowns and caught one more touchdown pass. He now has a 5.0 yards per carry average over his career.
Jim, Brown, and Chubb are now the only two Cleveland Browns running backs in the history of the organization to rush for over 1,500 yards in a season. Chubb is climbing the ladder of the best to have a run the ball for Cleveland. He currently sits in the No. 4 spot historically right behind Mike Pruitt.
With 6,341 yards, he should pass Pruitt quickly in 2023. Then he will have his sights on Leroy Kelly, who gained 7,274 yards in his career. One of the more jaw-dropping statistics for Chubb in this run up the ladder is in the sheer quickness he’s climbing. He’s only played in 49 games in his NFL career, whereas Pruitt got his mark after 63 games with the Browns and Kelly played in 120 games.

Cleveland Browns All-Pro: Myles Garrett, Edge Rusher
Defensive end Myles Garrett was named to the All-Pro Second Team after another strong campaign. He’s made either the first or second team in each of the past four seasons.
This year, he again tied for most sacks in a season in team history with 16 — tying his own record set in 2021. In addition to the sacks, Garrett also had a career-best 60 tackles, which included 18 for losses. In addition, he got better at using his hands to deflect quarterback passes and forced two fumbles.
Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers and Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys took home first-team honors this time. That should give Garrett something to fight for next season as far as individual honors.
Garrett had a year to remember and forget at the same time. He, unfortunately, had a car accident earlier in the year that forced him out of action for a game. Then he had some issues with coaches and their decisions that were somewhat made public, and he was disciplined for not reporting an absence from practice using the right protocol. However, he has become one of the faces of the franchise and earning a distinction as Second Team All-Pro is a nice way to reward his individual success in 2022.

Cleveland Browns All-Pro: Joel Bitonio, LG
Joel Bitonio is becoming the Browns newest iron man, playing in every game, and on every snap for the past six seasons. That consistency and his ability to maul defensive tackle in the run game has helped the Browns lead one of the best rushing attacks in the league.
He still has some time to go in order to be in Joe Thomas’ territory, but his string of games played is pretty impressive. He’s now been honored with this First-Team All-Pro status for the second time in his career and has also been named the second team three other seasons.
The former Nevada Wolfpack star was drafted by Cleveland back in 2014 and is the longest-tenured player on the roster. When he was drafted, he was overshadowed by quarterback Johnny Manziel and a cornerback named Justin Gilbert. Strange, how things work out as Bitonio is the last man standing — and the only one of those three that wasn’t a bust.
Bitonio is becoming a fan favorite too, and when the question of who has been one of the best Cleveland Browns players since their return in 1999 he was voted highly by the fans base. That hard work and not missing a beat shows a dedicated player.
The small group selected to All-Pro Teams each year is very small so earning such an honor is a big deal and the Browns and these players should be proud of their individual efforts.
