2. Zach Harrison, EDGE

Zach Harrison came to Ohio State with high expectations in 2019 as a five-star recruit from suburban Columbus. While Harrison indeed had his best season wearing the Scarlet and Grey in 2022, he didn’t quite live up to the lofty expectations of being the next Joey Bosa or Chase Young.

All that aside, however, Harrison is a unique athlete who definitely could be a steal in rounds 3-5 in the NFL draft. At 6-6, and 265 pounds, Harrison has the size and speed of an edge rusher that NFL teams look for. Harrison also has long arms, something most NFL edge rushers need. He most certainly could benefit from playing in Jim Schwartz’s wide-9 concept.

Harrison finished with 3.5 sacks and 34 total tackles in 2022, also doing a very good job of setting the edge on rushing downs for the Buckeyes. There were times when Harrison was completely dominating, the Rutgers game comes to mind, and also times when he looked ordinary last season. The key for Harrison in the NFL is going to be playing at the same high level for all 17 games of the season.

Again, being the former five-star, top 15 national recruit that he was, look for Harrison to test very well at the combine. The need for the defensive line is big for the Cleveland Browns entering the offseason. Maybe Harrison could help reduce some of that need.
