Back at home in Week 15, the Cleveland Browns will host the Chicago Bears who come in at 5-8 overall but have won three of their last four games. Two of those wins have come at home whereas the Bears are just 2-5 away from Soldier Field.

Cleveland, who comes in with an 8-5 record, has been excellent at home with a 6-1 mark at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Their latest win came at the expense of the Jacksonville Jaguars and snapped a two-game losing streak.

A victory this weekend would mean the Browns will finish with a winning record regardless of the final three games. That would be the second time in four years they’ve done so under Kevin Stefanski — a feat they only managed twice since 1999 until Stefanski arrived. More importantly, it would put them in line to secure a playoff berth. Attaining that win won’t be easy but it’s more likely to happen if these three bold predictions come true.

3. Martin Emerson records another pick

Martin Emerson had the best game of his young career this past weekend while playing the Jaguars. The second-year corner was tested often and that gave him the motivation to prove this was a mistake. Emerson did exactly that as he recorded the first-ever multi-interception game of his career.

Emerson not only recorded two interceptions but he was credited with three pass defenses as well. Heading into this weekend, he’s feeling more confident than ever which won’t be a good thing for Justin Fields and the Bears.

This first bold prediction is that Emerson will continue his strong campaign and record another interception. That would give him five on the year as he continues to make a case for his selection to the Pro Bowl.

2. Justin Fields held under 150 yards passing

Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears headed to Northeast Ohio back in 2021 when the quarterback was still a rookie. The Browns were ready for him as Myles Garrett led the way to one of the most dominating performances of all-time. Garrett had 4.5 sacks as the defense finished with nine on the day.

Fields wound up completing just 6-of-20 passing attempts for 68 yards. However, he lost 67 yards due to being sacked, giving Chicago just one yard of offense through the air. In all, they averaged just 1.1 yards per play as Cleveland won easily 26-6.

The Bears have continued to struggle since then and even their recent improvement doesn't take away from the fact that this front office is rumored to be looking for a new quarterback. That means Fields is likely trying to prove to some other team that he deserves another shot. For Cleveland, they're just going to be looking forward to getting back after this team they dominated two years ago.

While it's true the Bears have more weapons on offense now than they did in 2021, the same is true for Cleveland's defense. Even with some of their starters sidelined due to injury, they made life miserable for Trevor Lawrence and this bold prediction is that they do the same to Fields. He should have more yards this time but don't expect him to top the 150-yard mark through the air when all is said and done.

1. Joe Flacco has his second 300-yard game in a row

Since taking over as the starting quarterback for the Browns in Week 13, Joe Flacco has been playing excellent football. He's thrown for 565 yards with five touchdowns against two picks. This past weekend, he led them to the win over the Jaguars while throwing for 311 yards and three touchdowns.

The inspiring performance from the 38-year-old led to head coach Kevin Stefanski naming him the starter for the rest of the season. It also led to him earning a nomination for the FedEx Air Player of the Week. That's a great honor for any backup to get but for someone who just joined the team less than a month ago, it's almost unheard of.

Heading into Week 15, he should be set for another big game. Chicago hasn't been very inspiring on defense, surrendering 3,001 yards and 24 touchdowns through the air. That lands them 25th in yardage and 30th in defensive passing touchdowns. Throw in the fact that they're second in the league in run defense and the Browns are likely going to be throwing the ball all over the yard once again.

That leads to this final bold prediction which is that Flacco once again throws for 300 yards and multiple touchdowns. Those who are clamoring for more runs won't enjoy this but it's the way to attack this defense and once again, should be succesful. Just as it was against the Jags who had a porous pass defense and stout run defense.
