2011 Season Could Be Threatened

Posted by: chrisslocombe

The NFL owners are meeting in Atlanta this week to discuss a number of subjects one of which is the site of the Super Bowl in February of 2012. That is if the 2011 season is even played.

A number of events would have to happen though for these doomsday events to occur. The first of which is for the owners to opt out of the current CBA agreement this November, which could lead to there being no salary cap for the teams in 2010. If these events to happen to take place, the NFLPA fully expects the owners to then lockout the players, and possibly lead to no season in 2011.

However it’s highly unlikely that the owners would be foolish enough do such a thing and miss out on the millions they stand to make. So here’s to a new CBA agreement coming soon.
