Browns Add Two To Offense

The past two days have seen the Browns add two more offensive players.  Yesterday the team signed 10-year vet OL John St. Clair, to a three year $9,000,000 deal.  St. Clair started all 16 games last season at right tackle for Chicago Bears, and has also started at guard at various times over the past nine years.  The St. Clair signing comes just four days after the club signed OL Floyd “Pork Chop” Womack, from the Seatle Seahawks.  Today the club announced that they have signed RB Noah Herron, to replace the recently departed Jason Wright.

Additionally the Browns added MLB Eric Barton a few days ago.  Barton will compete for the second starting MLB spot next to D’Qwell Jackson.  Last season Barton lead the New York Jets in tackles with 127 as well he added 1.5 sacks, 1 fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 4 deflections.

* Sorry for not getting this earlier, some of these signings seem to go easily unnoticed.

Womack and St. Clair: best signings thus far.   Herron – write-off.  Less than 3.5 yards per carry over his career.  Cut by every team he has signed with.  Injuries.  Hasn’t played in two full seasons.  Enough said on him.

You’re right about the fast and furious signings!  There was just another one – Ravens free agent cornerback Corey Ivy to a one-year deal.  Not a bad signing even though he is 32 years old.  He has won a Super Bowl with the Bucs.  Playoff experience.  Played with Lewis and the best defense in the league at Baltimore.  Could be an impact player in the secondary and on special teams.
