Shaun Rogers Arrested for Having Loaded Gun in Carry-On Bag

The Browns nose tackle was arrested on Thursday – and remains in jail – at Hopkins International Airport for having a loaded .45 caliber hand gun in his carry-on bag. Why Shaun Rogers felt the need to bring a gun with him, and a loaded one at that, is beyond me, but you’d think the man would be smart enough to realize that airport security doesn’t take people walking around with loaded guns lightly.

Carrying a concealed weapon is a third-degree felony and Rogers could face federal fines for having the gun. He could also face punishment from commissioner Roger Goodell when this all gets sorted out. Worse for him, he has not yet been charged, nor has he been released from jail. With it being Easter weekend, the prosecutor’s office is closed and there is a fear that Rogers could be stuck there over the weekend. Something tells me he will get out of that though, since he has filed a petition today to speed up the process.

No matter how you look at this, decisions don’t get much dumber than this one. But, hey, look at it this way, the Browns now have their very own player-with-a-gun-charge (potentially)!
