Cleveland Browns Round Out Pat Shurmur's Coaching Staff

The Cleveland Browns completed Pat Shurmur’s coaching staff on Monday, adding assistants and announcing the coaches who were retained.

The team brought in Chris Beake (offensive assistant), Chuck Bullough (defensive assistant), Shawn Mennenga (special teams assistant), Ray Rhodes (senior assistant/defense), and Keith Gilbertson will be a senior assistant on offense after serving as the Browns’ director of pro personnel last year.

The Browns also retained the following coaches: Gary Brown (running backs), Steve Hagen (tight ends), Jerome Henderson (defensive backs), Kent Johnston (strength and conditioning), Rick Lyle (assistant strength and conditioning), Luke Steckel (assistant to the head coach), and George Warhop (offensive line).

    I’m especially glad that Warhop was retained. I think he does not get enough credit for building, without a lot of talent on the right side, a pretty tough offensive line which managed fairly good blocking for Hillis and protecting a rookie quarterback this past year.
