A day off from practice allowed the Cleveland Browns players to regroup and the front office to find a replacement punter for the injured Reggie Hodges, who will miss the entire season with a torn Achilles.

The team has found his replacement for the time being – Richmond Mcgee, who has spent time with both the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears. He was waived by the Bears on Monday and tried out for the Browns on Wednesday, getting the nod as the Browns’ punter – for now. That means job security won’t exactly be extended over to him with pleasure, as the Browns will continue to be on the lookout for other options.

  • The Browns also signed undrafted free agent linebackers Archie Donald and Eric Gordon, while waiving rookie linebackers Derrick Addai and Alex Wujciak. Hodges was also placed on injured reserve.
