The Cleveland Browns continued to add depth to the defensive line on Thursday, signing defensive end Juqua Parker to a one-year deal worth $3 million. Provided that he passes his physical, Parker will come to Cleveland as a backup, as newly-acquired Frostee Rucker has been told that he will be the starter at right end.

Parker is entering his 12th season in the NFL, having spent the last seven seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He has spent plenty of time as a backup, but has also produced when asked to be a starter. His best year came in 2008, when he started all 16 games, recording 45 tackles and five sacks. He’s also accumulated 15.5 sacks in the last three seasons combined.

The 33-year-old Parker is listed at 6-2, 250, and spent time in Philadelphia with both Pat Shurmur and Tom Heckert.
