Former Browns TE Ben Watson Signs Three-Year Deal with Saints

The Browns didn’t express much interest in re-signing tight end Ben Watson, so it was only a matter of time before he found a new team.

On Monday, the 32-year-old signed a three-year contract with the New Orleans Saints that will make him a great complement to Jimmy Graham. In Cleveland, Watson was a reliable target for the carousel of quarterbacks that passed through town, and his best season came in 2010, when he had 68 catches for 763 yards and three touchdowns. He was still productive in 2012, though, as he would total 49 catches for 501 yards and three touchdowns.

The Browns are still in the market for tight ends, which makes it a little puzzling that the team didn’t consider bringing him back.
