Morning Browns Fans and Happy Christmas Eve!!

As we get ready to celebrate the Holidays with family and friends, we look back on the Browns season and reflect.

The emergence of cornerback Joe Haden finally becoming that lockdown corner we had all been hoping he would become came to fruition this year.  Strong safety T.J. Ward has shown he is the most dominant strong safety in the league and the Browns would be very wise to lock him up before he hits the market.

Also in the secondary, Tashaun Gipson answered the questions at free safety and flashed signs of becoming a very good safety in this league.  At a position we thought would be a need, suddenly becomes a position of strength.

The biggest breakout player of the year and the one player that all Browns should be proud of and ecstatic to have him as their top playmaker is Josh Gordon.  The plays he made this season and ease at which he makes them is just amazing to watch and will be a huge crutch to lean on for whomever is playing quarterback for the Cleveland Browns next year.  Gordon was a human highlight reel in 2013 and we cannot wait to see what he does in 2014.

One week left and we head into the offseason, where we hope the front office makes the right moves….

Browns lose a forgettable, ugly football game

Browns coach Rob Chudzinski on how you have to be focused and have your mindset on winning games.  “It’s about a mindset to begin with,” Chudzinksi said Monday. “We’ve talked a lot using the term, ‘the last five,’ the last five minutes of each half, of wanting to win the last five, and that’s been a huge point of emphasis. So the guys are aware of it. They know it. They want to do well. But you have to execute as well, and you have to make plays when you have the opportunity.”

“From a coaching standpoint, we have to do everything we can to put them in the very best position for that, and we need improvement in all those things,” said Chudzinksi, whose eyes were outlined by dark circles Monday.

>That is the extent of it Glenn, you have hit the nail on the head!!! Have to hit more than miss that is for sure.

>Here is a stat to be proud!!! I would never have thought this franchise would have hit rock bottom and for so long after seeing the success they had in the 80′s!!

Mike, this defense is now worse than last year!! the statistics show it. They are 28th in red zone and 27th or lower in third down defense! Ray Horton is predictable in those areas and other teams have learned that!! They are 30th or so in last two minutes of the half and of the game( 4th quarter) in scoring defense!! So there is much more help needed on the D. But we need help on offense and are supposed to get it this year. Where do we go to get enough people to fill all the holes? The defense was supposedly fixed last year and now we know it wasn’t!!!
Just saw a mock draft on fansided that has the Browns taking Manziel with pick 5 and a guard from Stanford at 25. I would be very surprised!!!

Hey Letterman how are ya? I totally agree the stats don’t lie, but when we have a competent QB and a nice ground game, you will see the defense playing back at that extremely high level. They have just been hung out to dry all year long and down the stretch with nothing to play for. They will be ok once we get the offense fixed. Look for Mingo to have a breakout year next season. I still think they definitely have to upgrade the linebacker position occupied by Robertson. He has just been horrible in pass coverage this year to say the least. At this point, I’m not sure what direction the front office goes in terms of the QB position. You have some experts that love Manziel, others that wouldn’t touch him. It is gonna be an interesting offseason to say the least!!!
