Browns coaching search: LaCanfora reiterates team’s interest in Gus Malzahn

As the Auburn Tigers have gotten out to an early lead and look like the only reason they are not up by more is their own issues with execution, Jason LaCanfora mentioned that the Cleveland Browns are definitely interested in their head coach Gus Malzahn.

In a game where Florida State has a significant talent advantage, Auburn just seems to have the advantage with play calling and giving the defense fits on what to do.  For those fans watching the All-22 tape on ESPN2, the coaches covering the game are showing just how lost the Seminoles seem to be on defense as well as how well Auburn is playing defense.

The question with Malzahn is what he wants to do.  On the surface, he is an incredibly ambitious coach and he could potentially win a National Championship.  He could be content to do that and keep doing it or he could be the type of guy who wants to prove it at the highest level and establish himself as one of the best coaches in history.  And for all of the great coaches in history, the conversation always starts with NFL coaches there.

Why fabricate a story out of thin air? Gus won’t want to leave Auburn. I’m a Browns fan and as much as I would love it, it’s just not gna happen so stop hyping us up on bs. Please for the love of god stop.

    • Pete Smith

How is any of that fabricated or made from thin air?

      • Justin Cibik

Are u being literal because if so ur retarded. If otherwise, it’s a retarded question. So I’m guessing ur retarded.

        • Pete Smith

Yea,,, a report comes out about the Browns coaching search, so I put it up on here. That’s all there is to it. The Browns are interested in Gus Malzahn. He could say no and that be the end of it. Then it can go away. Or he can say yes and we have a new coach.

          • Justin Cibik

I understand what ur saying but if u can understand our frustration about all these stupid reports coming out about interviews/interest in coaches that are completely false and have no merit. Then why post the story man. It’s supposed to aid fans, not piss them off when the find out the “report” was bs

          • Zack Whitmore

how is it BS? The Browns do want to interview Malzahn. If he says no than that’s that. But that’s all the man is reporting is that there is interest on one side of the table. people were saying that Bill Obrien didn’t want to leave penn state a few weeks ago, now where is he at? the name calling isn’t justified.

          • Justin Cibik

U know the Browns want to interview him for a fact?! I doubt that. Same thing happened with Stoops and then finally Stoops shot the whole idea down. Stop screwing with the fans is all I’m saying. Until it’s a fact and there’s traction, there’s nothing to report but bs.

          • Sam Gold

Stoops shot the whole thing down?!? LOL.

          • Zack Whitmore

Stoops didn’t shoot anything down. Any hype over stoops was stoops posturing for $$. La canfora has twice tweeted about the Browns interest in Malzahn. He wouldn’t have done that unless there was a decent source there. It’s not an invented story if there is a source behind it. That’s how sports journalism works.

Yeah Pete, stop reporting news. Geez…

    • Justin Cibik

Because making stuff up is news. This isn’t the FOX network

      • Sam Gold

LaCanfora tweeted it, Pete reported that he tweeted it. Like it or not LaC is a national voice and when that voice speaks it’s news. You may not like or trust what that voice says but that doesn’t change the “fact” that it is news and DPD is reporting that news.

I am a disheart Browns fan. The I see it Chudzinski was fired the minute Lombardi took the job. The next HC for the Browns will come from the Bellichick tree. Either McDaniels or Mangini. My pick Mangini
