Browns Injury Returns Could Be Huge

The Cleveland Browns go into today’s game against the Baltimore Ravens with the expectation that they will compete and could be the favorite. It is a unique feeling for fans as we are used to being the underdog.

There are a ton of reasons that the Browns could win today but the return of 3 players from injuries could be the biggest reasons:

Jordan Cameron – Cameron’s return gives Brian Hoyer the biggest, most talented player on the offense back in the passing game. Even if Cameron doesn’t have big game he will draw a ton of attention from the Ravens defenders. Having the big play ability in the middle of the field could open up things deep or in dump offs. Cameron changes the game on the offensive side of the field.

Barkevious Mingo – Mingo, while not having the best stats, is a highly impacting player. He can rush the passer and play in coverage. Against the Ravens Mingo can help in coverage against Dennis Pitta and Owen Daniels who are both big parts of the Ravens offense. Getting after Flacco, who isn’t fast but does a great job of sliding out of the pocket, could make today’s game his breakout game. Flacco sliding out may not expect the fleet footed Mingo to close so quickly. A big hit, forced fumble would be huge for the game today.

John Hughes – While last on the list Hughes could have the biggest unseen impact on the defense. Bring Hughes back in allows the Browns to push Phil Taylor inside on both run and pass plays and still not lose leverage against the run. Hughes, Taylor and Desmond Bryant have great size/speed combinations. The three of them can help the Browns run game, even when the team begs the Ravens to run.

Who do you think is the biggest return for the Browns?
