The Cleveland Browns are staying busy with re-signing their own impending free agents, but there is still one big-time name they need to work on.

The Cleveland Browns stayed busy keeping the roster intact on Tuesday with two more moves on their own free agents.

The team re-signed punter Britton Colquitt to a four-year deal and placed a second-round tender on running back Isaiah Crowell.

With those transactions out of the way, the Browns still have one big item to check off before the start of free agency on March 9 – wide receiver Terrelle Pryor.

The Browns have until 4 p.m. today to place a franchise tag on Pryor, which they reportedly have no plans to do. If they can’t work out a new deal in the next week, Pryor will become an unrestricted free agent.

How much interest Pryor would receive on the open market – and how much that will impact the Browns’ bottom line – remains to be seen.

But for everyone’s sake, it would seem to be a good idea if the Browns and Pryor can work something out before free agency begins.

Cleveland Browns news:

Pursuing Kirk Cousins would be foolish for Browns

The Cleveland Browns need to fix the quarterback issue, but pursuing Washington’s Kirk Cousins will do more harm than good now that he has been franchise tagged by the Redskins.

Browns place second-round tender on Isaiah Crowell

Hue Jackson’s offensive mind had the Cleveland Browns running the ball surprisingly well to begin the 2016 NFL season. Isaiah Crowell was putting up numbers with the best in the league, even ranking in the top-five for a good amount of the first half of the season. Now, during the week of the 2017 NFL Combine, the Browns have placed their second-round tender on Crowell with hopes of signing him to an extended contract.

Jimmy Garoppolo worth No. 12 pick according to Mike Mayock (cleveland.com)

"With no quarterbacks in his top 10, NFL Network’s Mike Mayock is all for the Browns shipping their No. 12 pick to the Patriots for Jimmy Garoppolo and taking either Jonathan Allen or Myles Garrett with the No. 1 overall pick."

Inside Mitch Trubisky’s final Combine prep (USA Today)

"Tucked away in an unassuming corporate park, one of the quarterbacks NFL teams are buzzing about most is set to get grilled. He knocks on the door of a small conference room. The man who greets him, quarterback coach Ryan Lindley, knows him quite well. They’ve trained together for two months. The player introduces himself, anyway. “Mitchell Trubisky,” he says in between a handshake. “Nice to meet you.”"

Eric Berry, Chiefs agree to new deal (NFL.com)

"This time around, the Kansas City Chiefs made Eric Berry their top priority. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that the Pro Bowl backstop has agreed to a new deal with Kansas City worth $78 million over six years with $40 million in guarantees, per sources."

49ers must trade the No. 2 pick (The Big Lead)

"John Lynch and the San Francisco 49ers have a massive rebuilding project on their hands and the best way to accelerate that process would be to trade the No. 2 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Last week, Lynch discussed having the draft’s second pick and what that meant, and he said he was willing to trade down if a favorable situation presented itself. He should be actively pursuing that option."

Contenders who could land Adrian Peterson (Sporting News)

"Adrian Peterson has provided not-so-subtle hints that if he couldn’t finish his career with the Vikings, he wouldn’t mind doing so with the Giants. Now that Peterson will actually get to pick his second NFL team as an unrestricted free agent, don’t expect him to end up there."
