Cleveland Browns fans have heard a lot of rumors this offseason, but as usual, not many came to fruition. At least not yet.

Cleveland Browns fans have heard a lot of names this offseason, specifically when it comes to the quarterback position.

From Kirk Cousins to Jimmy Garoppolo, fans have heard rumors about the Browns potentially making a big upgrade at the position. It turns out that upgrade involved Brock Osweiler.

Rumors like this happen every year, and will continue to happen until the team finally finds a quarterback who is not only able to start a full season, but who enters the offseason as the starter for the following season.

And while rumors are fun, reality is much harsher for Browns fans. The team is in no position to lure a major free agent, especially a quarterback, leaving the rumors as nothing more than just that.

The more realistic outcome is finding a quarterback either this year or next year in the NFL Draft. Some fans may want to wait until next year, but the front office is not going to pass on a top quarterback prospect this year if Hue Jackson believes there is one player who can come in and turn things around for this franchise.

Drafting a quarterback is a big commitment, but the Browns have the draft capital to spend an early pick on one if he is believed to be the next big thing.

Let’s take a look at this and more in today’s edition of the Daily Dawg Tags.
