Romeo Rewarded for Unexpected Success

If you were to tell me before this season that you thought the Browns would go 10-6 and Romeo Crennel would get a two-year extension through 2011, I would have had half a mind to punch you in the mouth.  But it happened, and just about everybody is cashing in on this highly unexpected season.  Big bad Romeo is said to be making somewhere around $4 million per year.  My mind continues to melt with amazement when I remember that he led the Browns to a franchise-best 7-1 mark at home and currently holds the respect of every player in the organization.  And yet, his overall record with the team is only 20-28 with ten of those wins coming in 2007.  Who cares?  Cleveland’s going to be a contender next year.

– By the way, this is great to hear.  They have one month to sign Jamal Lewis before he becomes an unrestricted free agent.  Get it done.
