Browns Trade Brady Quinn to Denver Broncos
By Editorial Staff
The Browns have traded QB Brady Quinn to the Denver Broncos for fullback Peyton Hillis and a 2011 draft pick. This comes on the heels of Cleveland signing 35-year veteran QB Jake Delhomme to a two-year, big money deal (especially for a guy who lost the starting position last season to a nobody while throwing 18 ITs in Carolina).
The fella above is who we should have chased to be our starter until a QB selected in the draft this year can get his feet wet. Even Peter King of SI seems dumbfounded as to why more teams are not pursuing Donovan with more vigour. I thought initially it was money for the Browns, but that thought is gone with what we are paying Jake.
It appears a necessity now that Holmgren try to trade up to acquire a top QB in the draft. A few sources are reporting that the guy being targeted by Holmgren is Sam Bradford, who could still be available around the fourth pick.
By the way, I am as bewildered as the next fan about the signing of Delhomme. But Brady Quinn leading his new team to a Super Bowl? Hmmm…not unless there was an imposter wearing that jersey in Cleveland.
