RB Peyton Hillis Has Thigh Injury, T.J. Ward Fined $15,000
Running back Peyton Hillis – easily the Browns’ offensive MVP so far this season – now has an unspecified thigh injury. He was limited in Thursday’s practice and has been added to the team’s injury report.
It is not known what this does to his availability for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Getting hurt this late in the week isn’t the best timing, but I wouldn’t freak out just yet.
– In other news, rookie safety T.J. Ward has been fined $15,000 by the league for his hit on Bengals wide receiver Jordan Shipley, one that gave Shipley a concussion. The league pretty much had no other choice but to fine him amidst the recent campaign to limit hits that cause concussions. Browns fans shouldn’t be upset that the league fined Ward – they should be thrilled to now have an imposing presence in the secondary. If Ward gets fined, he gets fined. I maintain that nothing he did was intentional or malicious; he just caught Shipley in an unfortunate spot.
