Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson Returns to Practice
In a great turn of events for the Cleveland Browns, running back Trent Richardson made a return to the practice field on Monday. And, for all intents and purposes, he looked good – and healthy.
Richardson’s return comes at the right time, as the team is preparing to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the regular season opener this Sunday. While the running back only has a handful of practices to get back up to speed, and won’t be receiving any contact until he actually plays, it’s enough to get Browns fans feeling excited again.
It has the Browns organization feeling pretty good as well. Players, head coach Pat Shurmur and president Mike Holmgren all commented on Richardson’s return on Monday, and the consensus was that the running back looks as good as ever.
While he is certainly on track to play on Sunday, one can expect Richardson to get limited carries throughout the first few weeks of the season. He may be healthy, but getting used to the speed and physicality of the league will take time.
Of course, defenses might have to be preparing for Richardson’s physicality as well at this point.
