Browns LB James-Michael Johnson Could See Playing Time Against Giants

One sign of hope for the Cleveland Browns comes from the fact that despite injuries and suspensions running rampant on the defense, it has still managed to hold up. Eventually, those players will return and one can more accurately assess the progress of the team.

One of those players who could soon be returning is rookie linebacker James-Michael Johnson, out since the final preseason game with rib and oblique injuries.

"“It’s really good to have him back, to get somebody back,” defensive coordinator Dick Jauron said Thursday. “We were counting on him to contribute throughout the whole year. We’re excited to get him back on the field. Now we’ve just got to see because it’s his first week back in full practice. He’s moving well. If he has any soreness, it’s very minimal.“He’ll have to work his way back in. It’ll be a lot of special teams and then we’ll see what happens defensively as we move along.” (Source: The News-Herald)"

With the way Jauron was speaking, one probably shouldn’t expect to see Johnson playing much right away, but it’s a great sign that he’ll be on the field. Like any rookie, what kind of impact he’ll make is unknown, but the Browns could use depth just about everywhere and Johnson’s return will at least provide that.
