Browns DE Armonty Bryant Arrested, Charged with DUI

Cleveland Browns defensive end Armonty Bryant was a seventh-round pick in last month’s draft, so his impact on the team was a long shot to begin with.

But now, his odds of being a success in the NFL are astronomical.

Bryant, who was suspended for three games last season at Eastern Central University after being arrested twice (twice!) for selling marijuana to an undercover officer, was arrested and charged with a DUI last Friday.

The officer who stopped him tried to administer a breathalyzer test more than ten times, as Bryant continuously refused. Eventually, he produced a result of 0.098. Oklahoma’s legal limit is 0.08.

The Browns obviously took a chance on Bryant, but it wasn’t much of a risk making him the 217th overall selection. Of course, there is still a chance for him to become something in the NFL, but he’s not exactly off to a great start.

The team is currently “collecting more information” and has no further comment at this time.

Athletes and DUIs – it’s a mix that never really will make much sense.
