Former Browns LB Ausar Walcott Charged with Attempted Murder
When it comes to player misconduct, the Cleveland Browns have had a tough go of it this offseason.
The most recent – and most serious – offense comes from now former rookie linebacker Ausar Walcott, who is charged with attempted murder for allegedly punching a man outside of a club in New Jersey.
Walcott, 23 years old and a rookie free agent out of Virginia, punched 24-year-old Derrick Jones outside of The Palace Gentleman’s Club just after it closed around 3 a.m. ET Sunday. Jones is currently in critical condition.
Walcott was also arrested in January 2011 following a fight he was in while at Virginia. He was charged with assault and battery, and was initially suspended from the team, but was reinstated after his charges were dropped.
Not surprisingly, the Browns released Walcott on Wednesday.
