The Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts make a deal to send running back Trent Richardson to the Colts for their first round pick in 2014. The Browns throw in the towel on the season and try to maximize value on an asset they feel did not feel was a good fit in what they wanted to do. The Colts get what they hope is a franchise back to pair with their franchise quarterback in Andrew Luck. They are hoping this is the catalyst for them not only to build a dominant offense but push them into the playoffs and perhaps more now.
Richardson had over 1,300 total yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie while dealing with some nagging injuries. The expectation was that a healthy version would be better. In the first two weeks, that did not happen, but that does not mean it could not or would not. Nevertheless, the Browns trade their best offensive skill position player in Richardson.
With this move, the Browns own an extra first, third, and fourth round pick as well as the full complement of other picks. They have the ammo to get a quarterback, but it is going to be brutal football for the next 14 weeks. So where do you come out on this move?
