In his press conference, Rob Chudzinski announced that Brian Hoyer would start against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday.  He also noted that Brandon Weeden is healthy and has been cleared, but has not decided if he will be the second or third option on Thursday.  Chud said the quarterback position is week to week and he is comfortable with that idea.  Judging by Chud’s short tenure, this tends to be his mindset no matter the situation.

While there will be fans who think it is silly that he does not say Hoyer is the starter for the rest of the year, it is just now he operates.  Plus, considering that there were fans who decided to call the Browns organization liars upon trading Trent Richardson because they were tanking the season when they were not, there is little if any upside to make any grand statements about really anything at this point.  The Browns and Chud seem to be in a mindset of just worry about this game and this week and go from there.

The short week puts pressure on the Browns to rally quickly, get in the right mindset and focus on the challenge immediately.  If they can rally and get a win here, they have a week and a half off before they play the Detroit Lions.
