The Cleveland Browns are reportedly going to interview Ben McAdoo, the quarterbacks coach of the Green Bay Packers. McAdoo is a popular coaching prospect for a few spots. Most are expecting he will end up becoming the offensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins. McAdoo and Joe Philbin know each other from when Philbin was the offensive coordinator of the Packers.
The natural leap for those connecting dots is that Andy Reid was the quarterbacks coach of the Packers when Joe Banner hired him to be the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. Like Reid, McAdoo went from tight ends coach to quarterbacks coach.
This may be the Browns just going around and looking at different coaching prospects while the ones they want come available, but that is not a bad idea. The Browns are interviewing him for the head coaching spot, but McAdoo could conceivably be looked at as the offensive coordinator for whichever coach is hired. The Browns interviewed Ray Horton for the head coaching vacancy last year before bringing him on as the defensive coordinator.
