The Cleveland Browns may interview former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak today (Monday) according to Alex Marvez of Fox Sports. The Hall of Fame offensive left guard had also interviewed with his alma mater, Penn State, and is supposed to have really impressed in his interview with the Detroit Lions. There have also been reports suggesting he would become the offensive line coach for the Houston Texans.
Munchak was offered an extension to stay with the Titans, provided he would make changes to his staff. He chose not to make those changes and the two sides went their separate ways. Munchak had a 22-26 record in Tennessee despite dealing with injuries to their starting quarterback, Jake Locker, but the Titans did not get to the playoffs in his tenure. He is also the oldest head coach the Browns have been linked to in this process at 53 years old. The Browns have stayed pretty consistent with interviewing younger coaches, many in their 30s and 40s.
