With the loss of the Indianapolis Colts to the New England Patriots, the Cleveland Browns now know where the first round pick they got in the deal for Trent Richardson is officially.  In addition to the fourth pick of the draft, the Browns now also have the 26th pick in the draft.  This also means they know where their pick is they got from the Colts in a separate deal is in the fourth round.

For all of the criticism being lobbied at the current front office, the deal for Trent Richardson has been so lopsided that people would have expected the Browns to get the worse end of it.  Richardson did next to nothing for the Colts this year and was even worse in the playoffs.  If there is a hope that this front office knows what it is doing, it is that it absolutely crushed a competent franchise that was able to go to the playoffs the past two years in this trade.

The deal for Richardson is legalized theft even if they do absolutely nothing with it, but it is a huge opportunity to make a big step forward if they can get that pick right or use it to get a franchise quarterback.  Along with their coaching hire, this draft, with their 7 picks in the first four rounds are absolutely crucial for the franchise to make real progress.
