Browns coaching search: Kyle Shanahan could be in mix for OC per Ian Rapoport
By Peter Smith

It doesn’t sound like Kyle Shanahan will be on the #Ravens staff after all. So, Gary Kubiak as OC, Rick Dennison likely on it, too.

Shanahan could be in the mix in Cleveland RT @chynnadawg: @RapSheet is KS a candidate for #browns OC?

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Baltimore Ravens are unlikely to have Kyle Shanahan on their offensive staff. They announced that Gary Kubiak will be their offensive coordinator and Kubiak and Shanahan worked together when he was the head coach of the Houston Texans. It is unclear if that is a decision by the Ravens who simply do not want Shanahan or Shanahan wanting a bigger role elsewhere.
As a result, the natural speculation is turns to the Cleveland Browns and their offensive coordinator opening. The Browns reached out to Kubiak but were unwilling to cede as much power as he wanted. Essentially, he wanted to be a pseudo-head coach for the offense and Mike Pettine was unwilling to go that route.
Shanahan could be attractive to the Browns if they like some of the concept he learned from Kubiak as well as his own that he used when he was the offensive coordinator under his dad with the Washington Redskins.
