The Clevleand Browns a number of assistant coaches that had been reported but officially tabbed.  One of the ones that had not been made clear was the wide receivers coach.  Mike Pettine and Kyle Shanahan have tabbed Mike McDaniel the man for that job, who served under Shanahan with the Washington Redskins last season.

McDaniels played as a wide receiver at Yale from 2001-2004 before becoming a coaching intern for the Denver Broncos in 2005.  Then, he spent three years as an offensive assistant coach with the Houston Texans, where he would have initially run into Shanahan.  In 2009, he was the running backs coach of the California Redwoods and then two seasons as the Sacramento Mountain Lions in the same role.

In 2012, he was reunited with Shanahan as an offensive assistant coach before becoming the wide receivers coach in 2013.  McDaniel is a month away from turning 31.  He will have the opportunity to coach Josh Gordon this coming season.
