According to ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter the Cleveland Browns have signed Restricted Free Agent Wide Receiver Andrew Hawkins from the Cincinnati Bengals to an offer sheet. The terms of the four-year deal have not yet surfaced , but the Bengals have seven days to match the Browns’ offer.
Hawkins is a young athletic receiver who can play the slot in the Browns’ new offensive scheme under offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. The Browns’ front office needed to address the receiver corps either through free agency or the draft. In my opinion if the Browns’ were able to land ‘Baby hawk’ for a decent price tag then it will be worth it. However, I do feel that they could have saved their money and just addressed the receiving corp through the draft, which is widely believed to be very deep at the receiver position.
