According to ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter the Washington Redskins‘ have agreed to terms with Cleveland Browns free agent Guard Shawn Lauvao. The deal is reportedly four-years, $17 Million deal per Schefter’s sources with the Redskins’ organization.
Free Agent Lauvao was drafted by the Browns’ in the third round of the 2010 NFL draft. He missed playing time at the beginning of 2013 season due to an ankle injury, but was able to return after week five. Lauvao was a decent guard, but struggled as a run blocker and gave up 18 quarterback hurries along with four sacks last season. It has been rumored for some time that Lauvao was not a scheme match that new Browns’ offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan likes to run, Shanahan prefers smaller, more agile linemen to execute his zone-blocking scheme.
