Browns: Johnny Manziel reportedly in Cleveland for visit

Johnny Manziel is reportedly in Cleveland today for his visit with the Cleveland Browns.  For some reason, this counts as big news in the local media despite the fact they are bringing in just about every quarterback in the class.  The Browns attended a private workout at Texas A&M this past weekend and are now having him in for his visit that will last through Thursday.  The one thing that has gotten some attention is the fact that this is relatively late in the process and may be his last or one of his last visits before the NFL Draft.

This is virtually the same approach and type of time frame they had with A.J. McCarron.  Unless the Browns are putting together one of the all time fake outs in NFL Draft history, the Browns are taking a quarterback somewhere in the draft; possibly two.  Currently, they only have Brian Hoyer and Alex Tanney on the roster.

The question for the Browns is whether that quarterback is going to be taken at 4th pick, 26th pick, 35th pick or if they are going to move from one of those spots to get their guy.  The Browns have also had Teddy Bridgewater, Derek Carr and Blake Bortles among the list of quarterbacks they have gone to private workouts for and had come to Berea.  There is certainly some amount of support from the fan base to bring in Manziel, but it seems like the local media, especially on the radio, is trying to get Manziel here more than anyone else.  The NFL Draft is just 15 days away and Manziel’s visit also coincides with the day the NFL will release its schedule.
