Cleveland Browns Injury & Depth Chart Updates

The Cleveland Browns returned to practice this morning. Yesterday, the first day back after the Detroit Lions Pre-Season Game, had a number of players out with injuries. A few Browns Injury updates have come in today on who is back and who is still hurting:

Great news for Browns fans that Justin Gilbert, Joe Thomas and MarQueis Gray are back. Each of them is expected to be huge contributors to the Browns this year. Speaking of Gray the new depth chart for the Browns is out and only one change was made to it. Gray was moved from fullback to tight end. That leaves Ray Agnew as the only FB left on the roster. Gray was also placed at the end of the TE depth chart. It is unlikely Gray has fallen out of favor, as he was used a number of times early in the Lions game but is something to watch.

While returning players are a good sign the Browns still have a few important players riding bikes, Tour d’ Berea if you will, today:

Abdominal issues, for both Josh Gordon and Billy Winn, can be difficult to shake. Some take a day or two, others can take a week or more. For the Nate Burleson sitting out could be problematic as he isn’t squarely on the roster at this point. Hamstrings have to be taken care of, or they can get worse quickly, but the longer Burleson is out the more time for Charles Johnson, Willie Snead, Taylor Gabriel and others to snatch away a roster spot from him. No information yet on injuries for Desmond Bryant and Darius Eubanks.

Knock on wood but the Browns have avoided the major injuries that have plague them in camps past. Now if only they could get a favorable, or any, ruling on the Josh Gordon situation.

Any thoughts on the injuries or new depth chart?
