Johnny Manziel jerseys are taking over Oklahoma

The NFL is a league of popularity and the bigger your name, the brighter your star shines. Look no further than Johnny Manziel, who has not started a single game in the NFL this year but has one of the best selling jerseys nevertheless. He’s a brand in of himself, which is why everyone is buying up his uniform this season.

But it’s not just the fact that his jersey is being purchased, we all expected that to happen. It’s where his jersey is being bought up thats’ interesting. According to the DICK’S Jersey Report, Manziel is leading the charge in Oklahoma and is the reason the Cleveland Browns are the No. 1 selling jersey in the state.

This shouldn’t come as that big of a surprise, as Manziel played college ball not far across the border at Texas A&M and Oklahoma has no professional team to call their own. Adopting Manziel and the Browns makes sense, although it’s still a peculiar choice of allegiance.

Manziel is still dominating rookie jersey sales too, but is playing second fiddle to Teddy Bridgewater now that he’s starting in Minnesota.

Still, for a guy who hasn’t started a single game in the NFL, Manziel’s jersey sales being sandwiched between two rookie starters is a feat that only Johnny Football seems capable of pulling off. That, and apparently making Oklahoma the adopted home of the Cleveland Browns.
