The Cleveland Browns face off with the Pittsburgh Steelers today in a huge game for the AFC North. The home team Browns could draw themselves directly into the conversation for the Division with a win today.

Here are the big plays for the 1st quarter for Browns Vs Steelers:

  • Barkevious Mingo stops kickoff return at the 14 yard line.
    • Mingo has struggled wrapping up on tackles. Big start to the game.
  • On 3rd and 1 the Steelers run a FB fake, RB toss.
  • Bell with a long run on 3rd and 3 give Steelers 1st down on second possession.
    • Browns fail to maintain edge as Paul Kruger jumps inside which allows the bounce outside.
  • On 3rd and goal from the 3 Browns hold forcing a field goal.
    • ILB Craig Robertson read play and hit the hole quickly.
    • Armonty Bryant carted off to locker room after injury during the drive.
    • Steelers 3 – Browns 0
  • Browns offense goes 3 and out again.
    • Steelers blitzing gaps and no separation in coverage causing all kinds of problems.

Summary

The Browns barely had the ball and the Steelers have run all day on them. Nothing looking great for the Browns but the goal line stand was something to build off of. Something creative may be in order on offense soon. Getting pressure on Ben Roethlisberger, if he throws much, in the 2nd quarter would be helpful. Run defense issues continue to be a struggle. Expect Steelers to come out with a big play action pass in the 2nd quarter.
